Geophex Surveys employs both aircraft and satellite imaging platforms to provide our clients with the latest in products and solutions for their geospatial needs.

AIRCRAFT

Fixed wing aircraft are commonly used for aerial imaging projects due to their quick response time, relatively low cost and ability to cover large areas. Aircraft can also take advantage of limited weather windows of opportunity to capture imagery in areas of unstable weather, in addition to adjusting image overlap and pixel resolution depending on the needs of the project. The digital aerial cameras that Geophex Surveys utilizes are either Leica or Vexcel and provide exceptional resolution, high bit-depth and the ability to capture both RGB and Near Infra Red (NiR) bands. Aircraft can also capture detailed ground attributes using LiDAR sensors that use lasers to scan the ground and record the location and elevation of ground based features, which can then be classified into bare earth, vegetation, buildings etc.. All aircraft include on-board airborne GPS and IMU sensors to accurately record the position and movement of the aircraft throughout the acquisition flight.

Geophex Surveys, along with our acquisition partners, has access to a wide variety of image sensors in locations throughout the United States to meet the needs of our clients, and that allows us to successfully capture a wide variety of projects including high and low density urban areas, water districts, forestry, shoreline, energy, and mountainous areas.
